Laying the foundation stone of Orla Wind Farm

The construction is underway for several weeks, but now it’s been officially embarked. The foundation stone of Orla Wind Farm, of which Electrum is General Contractor, was laid on June 18th.

The formal foundation act was read and signed by the representatives of investor – a company owned by Nordex Windpark Beteiligung GmbH, Momentum Infra 1 GmbH, Eurowatt S.C.A. and Winergy Orla Wind Limited – as well as local authorities and representatives of General Contractor – a consortium of Electrum sp. z o.o. and Unibep S.A. The document was then, along with several Polish coins, current newspaper and Orla Wind Farm plan, placed in a brass tube and embedded into turbine no. 4 foundation.

The design work and preparation of technical documentation, which was necessary to start this investment, lasted 6 years. After completing the preparatory stage, the contractor began the engineering and construction works. Nine power stations will have been built by the end of this year in the area of villages Spiczki and Topczykaly. Another 6 power stations will be constructed there in 2015. In total, 15 turbines of Orla Wind Farm will generate energy with a capacity of 37.5 MW.

The investment cost is estimated for nearly 270 million zloty. Part of this amount will come from the investment loan amounting to 22 million euro, which was granted by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
