The History of Electrum
Home » History
Electrum began its operations in 1997, focusing on installation projects and integrating technologies that ensure safe and stable electricity supply. Over the years, we have expanded our expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex energy systems.
In 2012, we completed our first contract for energy complementary equipment for the renewable energy market, and since 2017, we have been acting as the general contractor, taking full responsibility for the execution of projects in this sector.
Electrum – innovation and experience
in service of the global energy transition
The dynamic development in the form of comprehensive EPC/BoP contracting led to our first international contract in 2019, opening the door to international markets. In 2021, we began operations as an independent power producer (IPP).
Since 2022, we have been operating in the One Stop Shop model, offering comprehensive support for major projects and investors, including our proprietary technologies Renedium and EMACS.
In 2024, we accelerated our international expansion by opening subsidiaries in key locations: Lithuania, Romania, and Denmark, where we began executing large projects in the renewable energy sector, such as the construction of farms and energy projects in the Baltic States and Scandinavia.
This year marks an intensification of our efforts in international markets, highlighting our global ambitions and growing role in the energy transition beyond Poland.
The year 2025 brought further utility-scale renewable energy assets as well as innovative Climate Tech projects. These included the launch of construction of one of the country’s largest industrial green hydrogen production facilities based on electrolysis (5 MW) and the commencement of the expansion of the 220 kV switchgear at the 220/110 kV Siersza substation to enable the connection of an energy storage facility.
We also launched two new research projects: FlexBIT, focused on an innovative energy management platform for microgrids, and EMACS Heat, dedicated to the management of thermal energy systems.
We marked our presence in Denmark by delivering our first utility-scale PV project there, the Ingerslev Å Solar Park.
By the end of the year, we exceeded 3 GW of installed capacity under continuous Operation & Maintenance, a milestone that is not only strategically significant but also represents capacity equivalent to more than 10% of Poland’s peak electricity demand.
We believe that climate technologies are the key to a sustainable energy transition, ensuring safe and clean energy for future generations – and they remain the main focus of our business development.
