Hybrid Power Plants

The Future of Modern Energy Systems

Hybrid RES (renewable energy sources) facilities are advanced energy systems of the future. They combine at least two independent installations based on different renewable energy sources—most often solar and wind. Increasingly popular are also combinations of wind or solar farms with energy storage systems. These solutions can become the foundation of a new, intelligent, and resilient distributed energy system, offering significantly greater value than the simple sum of the installed capacity of individual sources.

Combining multiple renewable energy sources in a single system allows for a more stable energy supply, minimizes downtime, and enables maximum use of available resources. At Electrum, we provide support at every stage of such investments, combining the long-standing experience of a general contractor with the innovation of a technology company.

Kleczew Solar & Wind Park

This is our flagship project and the first large-scale renewable energy hybrid of this size in Poland. The Kleczew Wind & Solar Park is a unique facility that combines two generation technologies in a single location: a 225 MWp photovoltaic farm and four wind turbines with a total capacity of 19.2 MW.

This is a project that was designed from the outset as an integrated system with two energy sources.

Other Solutions in the World of Creating Stable Hybrid Systems

Hybridization of Renewable Energy Facilities

This means adding an energy source to an existing one. When conditions allow, hybridization offers the opportunity to physically combine different energy sources (PV, wind, or energy storage) into a single integrated power plant. In such investments, the goal is to achieve technological complementarity, which ultimately transforms a single source into a more valuable, stable, and profitable asset.

The goal is for these installations to work complementarily, creating a smoother energy output, with wind producing power at times when the sun does not.
