Decarbonising industry

Industrial decarbonization is a comprehensive, strategic process aimed at eliminating or significantly reducing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and other greenhouse gases from industrial activities. Its goal is to transform an industrial model dependent on fossil fuels into a low- or zero-emission system aligned with climate neutrality objectives.

At Electrum, we specialize in developing tailored energy solutions for industry that accelerate decarbonization in Poland and across Europe. We support industrial clients in integrating technologies such as renewable energy sources, green hydrogen, green ammonia, green heat, and energy storage systems.

Our activities have a direct impact on improving the energy efficiency of industrial facilities and reducing emissions. We develop proprietary, pioneering products that enable precise monitoring of energy consumption and intelligent system management.

PV Farm at the Mažeikiai Refinery

We are the EPC+ general contractor for a 42.2 MWp photovoltaic farm located at the Możejki refinery. This project is a key element of a broader facility modernization strategy. As part of the 42.2 MW PV installation, we were responsible for the installation of 69,120 photovoltaic panels, 116 inverters, 16 MV/LV transformer stations, and approximately 37 km of medium-voltage cabling. This flagship project not only significantly increases the share of green energy in the refinery’s energy mix but also represents a tangible step toward greater operational independence and a reduced carbon footprint.

Electrum zbuduje Elektrolizer 5 MW dla Rafinerii Gdańskiej

5 MW Electrolyzer project for
the Gdańsk Refinery

As the turnkey general contractor, we are delivering a pioneering 5 MW alkaline electrolysis installation. This is a strategic decarbonization project and the first of this scale in the region. We are responsible for the entire investment lifecycle, from design to commissioning. The installation will produce 85 kg of green hydrogen per hour with a purity of at least 99.995%, compliant with fuel quality standards. The hydrogen will be used as a zero-emission fuel in transport. We combine advanced technology with our experience in system integration, tailoring the solution to the specific requirements of the refinery.

Customized Energy Mix
at the PADMA Facility

We are delivering an energy optimization project for the PADMA facility located in the Suwałki Special Economic Zone. The investment includes the development of on-site energy sources and the implementation of an electrical infrastructure management system, supporting the decarbonization of production processes and reducing electricity consumption from the National Power System (KSE). We were responsible for developing the project up to the ready-to-build stage.
Since 2025, we have been implementing the turnkey construction of a 3.5 MWp photovoltaic farm, and in the future we will deploy our EMACS system. The system will manage three energy sources: a 1.6 MWp PV farm, 2.95 MW cogeneration, and a new 3.5 MWp PV farm. Cogeneration will cover approximately 85% of the facility’s energy demand, while the PV installations will further reduce grid electricity consumption. Energy surpluses will be fed into the KSE.

Customized Energy Mix
at the Alu-frost Facility

We have delivered an innovative pilot project combining an energy storage system with a photovoltaic installation. A key component is the storage system operating in UPS mode, protecting production processes from the effects of power outages. As part of the MESH4U research project, we developed an intelligent algorithm that optimizes system operation by taking into account PV generation, the facility’s energy demand, and electricity tariffs, enabling price arbitrage. We implemented a comprehensive energy management system that increases the facility’s resilience, minimizes production losses, and reduces operating costs.

Industrial decarbonization is a process in which we at Electrum are proud to take part. We combine the expertise of an experienced general contractor with that of an innovative technology partner. We implement solutions that enable Polish and European industry to become more modern, secure, and competitive.

Renewable energy sources for industry

At Electrum, we offer a full range of renewable energy installations for industrial facilities.  As a result, we are able to implement renewable energy directly within production processes as well as within energy and heat supply systems.

Solar Farms for Industry

We provide comprehensive implementation of industrial photovoltaic power plants, from energy audits and design through construction to intelligent management of the generated energy. We also offer support in securing optimal financing, including grants and tax incentives.

Our specialists conduct a detailed feasibility analysis and design and build high-efficiency PV installations integrated with the facility’s infrastructure and production processes. We deliver proprietary monitoring and optimization systems that analyze installation parameters and their impact on the facility’s energy balance in real time.

A key asset is our advanced digital platform, which enables modeling of energy consumption and production forecasts based on historical data and weather predictions. Fully integrated with ERP and IoT systems, energy management is closely aligned with production dynamics, improving planning accuracy and predictability of operational costs.

We ensure investment security and efficiency through 24/7 control room supervision, minimizing the risk of downtime. As a result, our solutions maximize on-site energy usage, significantly reducing energy costs, CO₂ emissions, and the facility’s carbon footprint.

Wind Farms for Industry

We offer end-to-end implementation of industrial wind farms — from concept and financing, through construction, to operational optimization. Our holistic approach ensures safe progress through every stage of the investment.

We begin with a detailed analysis of wind potential and project design. We have proven experience in securing all necessary permits — environmental, construction, and zoning — which significantly shortens the investment timeline. As the general contractor, we manage the entire process: from turbine delivery and installation, through foundation and infrastructure construction, to grid connection.

Our added value is an advanced digital layer. We provide real-time monitoring and production optimization systems, supported by algorithms that forecast generation based on meteorological data. We integrate the wind farm with facility management systems (ERP, IoT), enabling automation and stabilization of energy costs.

To ensure maximum reliability, we offer 24/7 control room supervision and detailed risk analyses. This ensures that your industrial wind farm not only meets its planned performance but also serves as a stable and predictable pillar of a green energy mix.

Hybrid Installations for Industry

We design advanced hybrid energy systems that combine multiple renewable energy sources with energy storage. This strategic solution guarantees supply stability, cost predictability, and increased energy autonomy for industrial facilities.

We integrate photovoltaic installations, wind farms, and energy storage, optimizing their operation through intelligent management systems. By leveraging the synergy of multiple sources, energy is available regardless of time of day or weather conditions, ensuring continuity of critical production processes.

The key to efficiency lies in our proprietary analytical and forecasting systems, providing full control over energy production and consumption. These platforms, integrated with the facility’s ERP and IoT systems, enable advanced automation and resource optimization. Hybrid systems also allow for additional revenue generation through surplus energy management.

We provide full-service support across the entire process: from audits and design, through construction and integration, to ongoing supervision and maintenance. Investing in a hybrid renewable energy mix not only delivers tangible reductions in operational costs and emissions but also builds lasting competitive advantage and a responsible corporate image.
