Lipno Solar Park is one of the largest photovoltaic farms in Poland, built by Electrum Group — a leading Polish Climate Tech company. The 53 MW solar power plant will significantly contribute to the development of renewable energy in the country. The project investor is Equinor, represented in Poland by Wento.

“Lipno Solar Park is one of the largest projects of this kind in the region and another key investment supporting the energy transition across Poland,” said XXX from Electrum – “Thanks to our team’s expertise and experience in delivering such facilities across Central Europe, we were able to provide our partner with structural and technological solutions that will help fully maximize the site’s potential during its operational phase.”

Located in the Wielkopolska region, the Lipno solar farm consists of nearly 100,000 solar panels and spans over 80 hectares. The entire 53 MW installation is expected to produce 58 GWh of electricity annually for the next 30 years — enough to cover the energy needs of 29,000 Polish households.

The project also includes supporting infrastructure: a medium-voltage power station and an overhead switchyard were constructed. During the works, over 600 kilometers of cable were laid. In addition to the solar panels, 212 inverters and 8 medium-voltage stations were installed.

The general contractor of the Lipno solar power plant is the Polish company Electrum Concreo, working in cooperation with contract engineer J.S. Hamilton Poland, while health and safety supervision is provided by Human BHP from Gdańsk.

The construction lasted just under a year and was carried out in three stages. The first phase, known as Lipno Solar Park II, involved the construction of a 19 MW solar farm. The following phases included PV farms with capacities of 14 MW and 20 MW. The project also includes plans for the development of energy storage facilities.

The investor of the Lipno Solar Park is Equinor — a Norwegian international energy company represented in the Polish market by its subsidiary Wento.

“Equinor aims to be a reliable energy partner for Poland and to support its energy transition. We are building a diverse energy offering in the country by diversifying generation and supply sources,”said Michał Jerzy Kołodziejczyk, Country Manager at Equinor Poland.

The municipality of Lipno will benefit from the project through tax revenues.
