Electrum, one of Poland’s leaders in large-scale renewable energy investments, is constructing the 100 MWp Grabno photovoltaic farm on behalf of Afcon Renewable Energy. Work on the project has been under way since August 2025 on the territory of Ośno Lubuskie commune in Lubusz Voivodeship. The project comprises two independent installations — Grabno North and Grabno South, each with a capacity of 50 MWp. Completion of construction is scheduled for autumn 2026.

Project Scale and Technical Specifications

A total of 161,190 photovoltaic modules rated at 620 Wp and 286 inverters rated at 350 kW will be installed across the site. The installation will cover an area of approximately 130 hectares — a footprint comparable to more than 180 football pitches.

A key element of the investment is the construction of two Main Collection Points (MCPs), each equipped with a 57 MVA transformer, as well as the deployment of cable infrastructure comprising over 17 km of 110 kV lines, along with low-voltage and medium-voltage lines.

“The investment in Grabno marks another important step in the execution of our renewable energy development strategy in Poland. This project not only strengthens our market position, but also contributes to the energy transition of the region and the country as a whole. We are delighted to be working with such an experienced and trusted partner as Electrum, whose expertise and commitment are essential to delivering this project to the highest standard,” said Dimitrios Antoniou, CEO of Afcon Renewable Energy.

The estimated annual energy output is approximately 100,740 MWh, equivalent to the consumption of around 50,370 households.

“Grabno is another 100-megawatt project in our portfolio, confirming Electrum’s position as a leading renewable energy technology integrator in Poland. In addition to our role as general contractor, we are deploying our EMACS and Renedium systems at the installation, transforming a conventional PV farm into a smart, data-driven power plant. We thank our investor, Afcon, for their trust, and we are proud to be jointly delivering a project of such significance for the country’s energy transition,” said Tomasz Taff, Commercial Director and Member of the Management Board at Electrum.

Comprehensive EPC Delivery

Electrum is responsible for the full execution of the investment under the EPC model (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), encompassing:

  • preparation of executive and substitution designs,
  • supply of key technological components,
  • civil and assembly works,
  • construction and fit-out of two MCP substations,
  • installation of LV, MV and HV 110 kV cables,
  • commissioning, functional testing and final handover of the facility.

Construction began in August 2025, with completion scheduled for September 2026.

Digital Energy Management Systems: EMACS and Renedium

The Grabno installation will be equipped with two proprietary digital systems developed by Electrum:

  • EMACS — an advanced platform for monitoring, automation and control of power plant operations,
  • Renedium — a predictive analytics and efficiency optimisation system supporting installation diagnostics and infrastructure lifecycle management.

Through their implementation, the Grabno farm will become a fully digital and intelligent energy source, automatically optimising performance and minimising the risk of downtime.
